SPECIAL NOTE TO POTENTIAL CANDIDATES: The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners does not have or distribute sample nominating petition forms for candidates seeking to file for office for the 2011 Municipal General Election for Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer and Alderman.  Our 2011 Election Information Pamphlet and Calendar published on July 16, 2010 stated that the Illinois State Board of Elections makes available "suggested" sample petition forms for various elective offices and that sample petition forms are or will be available at the State Board of Elections.
The Chicago Election Board recently was informed by the State Board of Elections that its 2011 Candidate's Guide with suggested petition forms will not be available until the end of August, at the earliest.  The State Board reported that it will inform the local board when the Candidate's Guide becomes available.  Until then, the State Board of Elections does not have petition forms to distribute.  The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners will post an announcement on this web page when the State Board of Elections advises that its 2011 Candidate's Guide and suggested petition forms are available.
